Best Baggers

• The Minnesota Grocers Association is holding its 2012 Best Bagger Contest!  Not only is this a fun, fast-paced and entertaining competition, but most importantly, this event showcases the talents of one of the industry’s key employees.  Participating contestants will be judged on speed, style, attitude, proper bag building technique, and weight distribution.  Additionally, baggers in this year’s contest will continue to use the ever popular reusable bags, demonstrating the retail food industry’s commitment to consumer choice and the well-being of the communities they serve.

• Leo Howard is an actor, model and martial arts star of Disney XD’s “Kickin’ It.”  Leo will be onsite at Mall of America® as part of the Radio Disney LIVE! United Way Action Day

• Activities:
• Team Challenge: Gather friends, a team of five*, to compete in the Rotunda at Mall of America. Teams can sign up for half hour races beginning at 4 p.m. Race activities include assembling senior safety kits, healthy snack packs and homework kits.*Must be 8 years or older to participate
• Speed Volunteering: Create bookmarks and educational flashcards for children in need, craft fleece blankets or put together essential kitchen tool kits for those in transitional housing.
• Educational Games: Learn more about budgeting for a family of four – candy included! – or join us in the reading corner to meet Nickelodeon Universe characters (schedule of characters will be announced shortly!).
• Nickelodeon Character appearances in the Southeast Court at 4 p.m. (Ming Ming), 5 p.m. (Dora), and 6 p.m. (Squidward).
• Volunteers will receive a mystery wristband for Nickelodeon Universe – all will include points for one ride, but one lucky winner will receive an unlimited year-long pass and another person will receive an unlimited day pass!
