This Mother’s Day, join thousands of participants in celebrating the 21st annual Komen Twin Cities Race for the Cure at Mall of America®! More than nine Minnesota women a day hear the words, “You have breast cancer,” and nearly two Minnesota women die from breast cancer each day. On Sunday, May 12th, you can join in the effort to bring those numbers closer to zero.
Kid’s for the Cure®
On Saturday, May 11th, KS95 and GoGurt will present Kids for the Cure®, an untimed fun-run for kids ages 1-12! Games, face painting, creative activities, entertainers and more will be available, starting at 10:00 AM. Kids registering for the Fun Run may also participate on Sunday in any of the Race Day events with no additional fee.
As an added bonus, kids participating in Kids for the Cure are invited to celebrate the upcoming film “Epic” at our Kids Fun Run Saturday, May 11! Enter for the chance to win passes to an advance screening of and get your face painted like a fairy! Plus, all racers that day will be given a pair of passes to a special “Epic” screening on Saturday, May 18 at Theatres at Mall of America®. Don’t miss “Epic” In theaters May 24.
If you have not registered for Race for the Cure yet, don’t worry! You can register early (until May 11) for $35 per adult or $17 per 12 & under child, or on the day of the race for $40 per adult and $20 per child. Fees include a Susan G. Komen Twin Cities Race for the Cure® T-Shirt, Race bib, participant wristband, and Race Day refreshments. Register online until May 7, or sign up in-person in the MOA™ Rotunda from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM on May 10th and 11th. Race Day registration will take place from 6 – 9:30 AM in the Rotunda. Don’t mind the mess:
The construction taking place outside MOA will not affect the Race events, but it is a good idea to be aware of it and plan your route to the Mall accordingly. To make things easy, here is a list of the easiest ways to get here no matter which direction you’re coming from:
From the East:
494 WB, take exit for 34th Ave S., left on 34th Ave S., turn Right on American Blvd., follow police officers directions to parking.
494 WB to Hwy 77 South, exit at Lindau Ln., follow police officers directions to parking.
From the West:
- 494 EB to 24th Ave South, follow police officers directions to parking.
- 494 EB to Hwy 77 South to Killebrew Drive.
From the South:
- Hwy 77 North, exit for Killebrew Drive or Lindau Ln.
From the North:
- Hwy 77 South, exit at Killebrew Drive.
- Route 55 from downtown begins at 4:02 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
- Route 55 from airport terminal 1 begins at 3:47 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
- Route 55 from airport terminal 2 begins at 3:49 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

6:00-9:30 AM: Race Day Registration – Inside MOA, in the Rotunda, on the 1st level, east side
7:00 AM: Aerobic Warm-Up – Outside, in the Health Expo area, just north of MOA
7:25 AM: 5K Women’s & Men’s Wheelchair Race – Outside
7:30 AM: 5K Women’s & Men’s Combined Run – Outside
For runners and wheelchair racers. Join elite and novice runners for a 3.1 mile run! Starting at the intersection of 24th Avenue South and Lindau Lane (near the north entrance of Mall of America) and finishing at the intersection of Old Shakopee Road and Killebrew Drive (near the south entrance of Mall of America). Please do not leave any bags or backpacks unattended on the Race grounds. Baby strollers and baby joggers are not permitted in the 5K Run. The top 5 men, women, and survivor finishers will be timed.
7:00-10:00 AM: Health Expo -Outside, just north of MOA
7:00-10:00 AM: Race Day Refreshments – Outside, in Health Expo
9:00 AM: 5K Walk – Outside
Join us for a non-competitive women’s, men’s, and children’s walk that starts on American Boulevard and finishes at the intersection of Old Shakopee Road and Killebrew Drive (near the south entrance of Mall of America). The 5K walk is not timed.
9:30 AM: 1K Walk – Inside MOA, on the 2nd level (near Sears)
This walk is fun, easy, and great for people of all ages. Starts inside Mall of America on the second level near Sears and finishes on the second level near the Rotunda. The 1K walk is not timed.
11:00 AM: Survivor Celebration and Photo – Inside MOA, in the Rotunda, on the 1st level, east side
(This event will occur rain or shine. We reserve the right to cancel in extreme circumstances. Should that become necessary, there will be no refunds and your entry fee will be used as a donation to Susan G. Komen Twin Cities Race for the Cure®.)

Saturday, May 11, at 11:00 AM. Starts and finishes in the Old Met Parking Lot at Mall of America. The Fun Run is not timed. It’s fun for children 1-12. Every child that registers and participates is a winner and receives a medal!
5:30 – 8:00 PM: CRAVE Pre-Race Day Dinner in the Great Room in Nickelodeon Universe®
