  1. My favorite part of the Minnesota Renaissance Festival is the lively atmosphere! It’s a great getaway to medieval times. I look forward to purchasing soaps, incense, etc., and of course the entertainment and food is always great!

  3. I want to see a culture that changes through the ages, I want to experience something is still unknown to my knowledge. I want to learn how people lived their lives without the advancement of technology that we have. I want to know the feeling of being in suit of armor. I also want to have a memory of at least eating in a feast.

  4. I am most excited to see the look on my son’s face when he enters this magical world that he has never seen! He LOVES all that kind of stuff and is finally old enough to get into it and I am taking him but I am not going to tell him anything about it so he is surprised by how crazy its going to be! Its the one place where an odd bird like him can be an exaggerated version of himself and not be seen as weird :)

  5. I love spending the day with my mom eating Popovers, spinach pie, apple dumpling w/cinnamon ice cream and visiting our favorite artisans. All set in my favorite time period is the icing on the cake!

  6. It is the family time time that it offers.  There is so much that everyone in the family is sure to see and do something they enjoy.  It my be the entertainment because there is so many great acts as well as the fun of seeing the people in costume and character.  But we can not leave out the great food and shopping.  Really something for all.

  7. My favorite part of the Renaissance Festival is the fact that it’s a getaway for people living in the city. I grew up in the country and have so many fond memories of being outside in the woods, pretending to shoot bows, napping on the ground…Ren Fest is an opportunity for me to do all of that again. I’ve gone every year for at least a decade, and am trying to convince my parents to come with this year for the first time.

    Thanks for hosting this giveaway!

  8. I haven’t been in almost 15 years! I remember loving all the stage (and non-stage!) performers. And the pickle vendors! How could I forget the pickle vendors?!?! But I think the thing I’m most excited about is to be able to actually drink beer out of the cool mugs! :-) elizabeth pavlica at gmail dot com

  9. It is the family time.  There is so much there that everyone can find something they enjoy.  There are many different acts that are very good and the people in costume interacting with the crowd.  We can not forget the delicious food and fun shopping.

  10. It is difficult choosing only one favorite thing at the Renaissance Festival- I have so many memories of the kids getting knighted by the queen herself! Riding the elephant, trying our hand at an actual dual, life size chess and exploring the magical gardens hidden through out the Festival. Excited for 2012…

  11. Last year was my very first Renaissance Festival and I feel like I only saw half of it.  I loved the performers Moonie and Tuey the Juggler.  Such a great spectacle!

  12. I’ve never been to the Renaissance Festival but have heard great things about it.  I’d love to experience it for myself!!

  13. I love watching how people get dressed up in all kinds of cool renaissance garb because they, like me, love the fest! Also, the people they hire to mix and mingle with the crowd are very entertaining! It’s a great time all around! ivyubtripin at yahoo dot com

  14. I love everything about the fest. My husband and I go every year, we are on our 7th year going. I love the shopping, food, and shows. My favorite has to be that it seems like my husband has a target on his head. He ALWAYS get’s pulled on stage durning an act or show. Last year he was pulled out of the crowd during the “Dirty Wet Wenches” show. He ended up carrying one of the performers through the crowd, yelling that he loved her, and then he had to take a flower out of her mouth. She dropped the flower and pretended (I hope) that she kissed him! I laughed so hard I thought I was going to pee my pants. In 2010 we brought a friend of mine for the first time, last year we brought another friend of mine for her first time, and this year she is bringing her boyfriend for his first time. We look forward to the fest every year, it is our big summer adventure. My husband and I have made many, many happy fun filled memories at Ren Fest, and this year will be no different. See you opening weekend at cannon fire, we can’t wait!

  15. My favorite part was all the shows then last year me and my friend had the awesome chance to work in one of the booths it was  a lot of fun to go there every weekend, except the last weekend we couldn’t because are booth had been in the fire but we would love the chance to go this year.

  16. My favorite part is all the unique arts and crafts!  So many different things that are sold and it’s always so fun walking around and seeing it all.  Besides that it’s really great to see everyone’s Ren Fest outfits!  It’s like a time warp and it’s so easy to feel like you just time traveled into the 16th century!

  17. Of course the food (turkey legs ftw!) is awesome, but I always loved the performances! I could still tell you half of the story of Rindercella by Zilch the Torysteller from when I was a kid, and can’t wait to see the jousting again! The last time I was there was for my 16th birthday more than a dacade ago… I’ve been away from Minnesota for a very long time, and have booked my trip home specifically to coincide with Ren Fest! I’m so looking forward to experiencing it for the first time as an adult, and sharing it with the next generation of my family!

  18. I have a lot of friends who are festies and I love the shows (esp Ziltch) but it’s the food I’m the most excited about ;)
