Too Cold For Open Toe? Say It Isn’t So!
BYBy Lisa Steinke/Chicklitisnotdead.com
Since moving to the Midwest, I’ve decided that there are two versions of me. The one you get when the sun’s out and the one you get when it’s not. And let’s just say you definitely don’t want to cross paths with the former because, well, it just won’t be pretty. Let me conjure up for you the image of your un-caffeinated coffee addicted best friend who’s PMSing. Now mix that with your hungry, I had a bad day at work spouse. Roll those into one and presto change-o, you’ve got me! Lucky you
And although I’m happy to report that my dark side hasn’t reared its ugly head for an ENTIRE WEEK thanks to the sun deciding to throw me a bone and come out of hiding(I’d like to think my threatening fist thrusts toward the sky have been paying off!)I’m still not satisfied. Because it’s been too cold for open toes!
If I were back in Cali right now, I’d be pairing sundresses with sandles every day. But here, all I can do is drool over my new Michael Kors “Famous” High Heel Sandals (Bloomies – pictured top left) that are currently collecting dust in my closet. (A fashion crime if you ask me!) If Michael heard this, he’d probably blast me like I was one of the Runway contestants and tell me to get over myself and just put his beautiful shoes on. But I’m sorry Michael, as gorgeous as your spring line of wedge and high heel sandals are, I simply cannot subject my perfectly manicured tootsies to 50 degree brisk breezes. They’re far too precious.
But I do promise you, Michael, as soon as it warms up (I’ll settle for a mere 60 degrees!), I’ll be strutting everywhere in your “Famous” High Heel Sandals. (Oooh, and how fab are they going to look with my jeggings!) And then I plan to buy your gorgeous “Juniper” Espadrilles (pictured top right). And last, but not least, I’m going to snatch up a pair of your delicious “Paris” Strappy Buckled High Heel Sandals (pictured top center). I can already envision how great the distressed metallic leather will look against my Esse “Fiji” toe nail polish.
BTW, I’m not sure if it’s his witty zingers (“It like a disco straight jacket”) on Project Runway or his amazing ability to design fantastic clothes, purses and shoes for women, but I’m crushin’ on Michael Kors big time. And that’s why I say, when it’s time to go open toe, Kors is the way to go!
