3 Beauty Routine Questions with Elizabeth Dehn

Elizabeth Dehn answers a few of our questions about her spring beauty routine.

Spring is one of my favorite seasons to update every aspect of my life, and lately it’s been switching up what is in my beauty bag! The transition to glowing skin, cooler shades and pastel lip colors is something I look forward to every year.

This spring, it’s all about being effortless and having fun with your beauty regime. Think matte lips, flushed cheeks and bold under eyeliner. I wanted to get another perspective on spring beauty routines, and I thought who better than Elizabeth Dehn (Beauty and Lifestyle Editor of Mpls.St.Paul Magazine and Beauty Bets)?!

If you’re looking to transition your beauty routine into spring, Elizabeth has the best advice on products, trends and tips for women to be in the know about what is hot for spring!

55425: What is your spring beauty routine?

Elizabeth Dehn: With the humidity picking up (and breakouts more likely), I’m extra diligent about exfoliation. I keep a Clarisonic in the shower, as well as Kate Somerville Exfoliate (find it at Nordstrom). I also do a deep-pore cleansing mask weekly (GlamGlow is bananas!).

55425: What products do you recommend to give your complexion a glow during spring?

E: Although I wait until after Memorial Day for the full-blown faux glow, I have broken out the bronzer. Clinique Sculptionary Contouring Cheek Palette in Defining Nudes adds a subtle wash of color if you’re super pale like me or new to using a bronzer (available at Macy’s).

55425: Where do you find your beauty inspiration for each season?

E: In the outfits I’m wearing. If brights are big in my closet, I wind up wearing a nude lip and straight hair or a sleek pony. If I’m feeling more blues and chambray, like this year, I’ll go peachy. Stripes are a staple in my spring/summer wardrobe and those always bring out the classic tight eyeliner and retro red lip (Bobbi Brown Lady Ruba looks fab on everyone—find it at at Nordstrom!).
