Local art is having a moment at Mall of America® like never before. You might remember that last summer we partnered with Minneapolis Institute of Arts to create a collection of graphic T-shirts. Our love for the arts didn’t stop there! Since then, we’ve partnered with three local artist groups to create galleries located throughout the mall.
With the help of Minnstameets, an exclusive community of photographers who use Instagram and live in Minnesota, Mall of America created a photo gallery curated entirely from social media. The collection consists of 100 photos submitted by the public that showcase the holidays and winter season at MOA®. The #MOAHOLIDAY Art Gallery is located on Level 2 in the southeast corner of the Mall.
Award-wining artist, Shane Anderson worked with 25 community groups to create a mural installation on Level 1, in our new north expansion called “Community on Canvas.” Each organization’s painting was custom-created to help tell the story of their work, and members of each group helped paint pieces of the mural.
Mall of America teamed up with Made Here, a project of Hennepin Theatre Trust, to bring a walkable art experience to guest, showcasing works of artists from around the Minneapolis and St. Paul area. The Mall of America + Made Here art gallery is located on Level 2 in our new north expansion.
