What better way to celebrate the wonder that the new school year brings for a child than the Minnesota Children’s Museum, which is where we shot this year’s Back-to-School feature. It was a natural choice for us, because the Minnesota Children’s Museum pop-up location will open at Mall of America® on September 26 and remain open through the remodel of their St. Paul location. Kids will be able to explore the galleries that are uniquely designed with a child’s busy brain in mind. Every visit will be packed to nurture a creative thinker, fuel fun, and cater to the curiosity and wonder, just in time to reignite the learning bug for back-to-school.
I would like to believe that the back-to-school time of year for kids is much like fall fashion for adults. It is a time of rebirth, to forget the fashion missteps of the past and wonder about the possibilities of fall trends. As leaves fall and sweaters come out to play autumn is full of new learnings, new friends and new trends.
This year in fall fashion kids can have all of the fun; from fun texture in rich fall colors, to bright denim, graphic printed sweaters and high-top boots and sneakers. Girls will need to stock up on their leggings, tulle skirts, muted pinks, purples and creams. For the boys, the go-to will be the jacket. Pick one up in denim or a faux leather moto style and your little man will be rocking the “It” piece for fall. Kiddos will love the trendy and comfortable shoe choices this year, All Star sneakers in every color, bright Hunter rain boots, and Dr. Martens will be piling up on the jungle gym this year.
