Three Questions with Lennon and Maisy

The young actors/musicians share what it’s like to work with family—and what they’re hoping to do next.

It’s safe to say that I’m living vicariously through Lennon and Maisy Stella. These two seriously talented singers were discovered on YouTube and are now starring on the hit show, “Nashville.” I had the chance to chat with the girls when they were in town to help celebrate Special Olympics Minnesota’s Celebration of Champions.

Aside from my Q&A with the girls, I learned that Lennon’s go-to store on any shopping trip is Free People (Level 1, South); the girls do not agree on who their on-screen mom (played by Connie Britton) should end up with; and yes, their voices really are that incredible live. Here is what the girls had to say about working together, and what’s coming next.

Q: What is it like working with your sister every day?

Maisy: Fun! It is a lot more comfortable than working with someone you recently met.
Lennon: It’s comforting having my sister by my side and getting experience these things together is awesome.

Q: As singers and actresses, do you have any advice for young performers who are trying to follow their passion and form a career?

Maisy: Start putting up videos on YouTube if you want people to be able to watch you sing.
Lennon: Always stay true to yourself. Do it for the love of it and because it makes you happy.

Q: What’s next for you two? Movies? A new album? What can your fans look forward to seeing from you guys?

Maisy: Some movies and yes, an album. Hopefully soon!
Lennon: We hope to continue on the show, of course. In the meantime, we are working on writing and hopefully making an album!
